Fans Ignored Big Bang’s T.O.P.’s Wish; Flew Balloons Over Military Base

Big Bang's T.O.P. expressed his desire to enter the military without any fanfare but some fans still went out of their way to surprise him.

Many V.I.P. fans criticized the fans who disrespected their idol's wishes even after T.O.P. and his management label YG Entertainment both released statements that the artist wishes to leave quietly for the military.

Some of the 29-year-old rapper's fans showed up Thursday at the Chungnam Nonsan Army Training Center where they flew over industrial-sized helium balloons over the military base.

According to Koreaboo, these fans camped out of the Nonsan Bootcamp Army Base as early as Wednesday to set up the oversize balloons and banners.

They set up light blue banners that said, "Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P) return to us healthy!"

"Amongst all the short haired people, our Oppa is TOP TOP TOP!" read the banners attached to the balloons.

Another long banner with T.O.P.'s face on the right side shown, "Oppa, don't miss your artworks, 'hot dog' and your fans too much~"

Fans also held up posters and messages that said, "Hey T.O.P! I miss you already."       

V.I.P. fans then criticized these stubborn fans who clearly disregarded their idol's wishes to avoid any fanfare during his enlistment. They also thought that the actions of such fans will cause a negative impact for T.O.P.

"For sure others will treat him diff. now inside military, they are equal there and this just adds negative effect to him. We all know how different Koreans' way of thinking is," commented one V.I.P. fan.

"I really want to leave quietly today," T.O.P. wrote on his Instagram page hours before his enlistment, according to all K-pop. "Please understand even if I leave without any greetings. I'm sorry."

YG also announced Monday, "T.O.P. does not want a special event or ceremony for his enlistment. He wants to enlist quietly."
