Great Britain's Mark Cavendish collides with South Korea's Park Sang-hoon during the men's omnium final at the Rio velodrome.

Cavendish, who is known as the "Manx Missile", created a big controversy during the men's omnium points race. He caused a massive fast-speed crash that caused the South Korean cyclist Park Sang-hoon being taken on a stretcher and brought to the hospital in an ambulance.

Park, a 23-year old cyclist in South Korea, and member of the Seoul Cycling Team from the year 2014 up to present. Park was on the inside of Mark Cavendish coming through the final corner when the British rider cut down sharply into him.

Due to what Cavendish did, Park fell heavily and hit the deck hard causing the race leader Italian Elia Viviani and Australian Glenn O'Shea to fall. Both cyclists were unable to divert and stop from crashing to Park.

After the crash, horrifying scenes happened in the omnium when Park was left unconscious on the track and did not show any movements as the medical officers rushed to him.

The 160-lap race was neutralized with 99 laps to go before the crash arrived. The race was continued after a short delay, with many fans that gobsmacked that Cavendish have not been disqualified from the race.

The British cyclist, Cavendish got the Silver medal, Elia Viviani from Italy got the gold medal while Danish cyclist Lasse Norman got the bronze medal.

The officials reviewed the crash-causing act of Cavendish. However, it was announced several minutes that there would be no penalty issued to him.
