Selfie of the Year: South Korea and North Korea Olympic Gymnasts

There are lots of controversies happening in the Rio 2016 Olympics. However, the main purpose of the event is to promote peace among countries and to inspire people.

The two countries, South Korea and North Korea both joined the Rio 2016 Olympics. We are aware that these two countries are not in good terms and wrenched apart in the aftermath of World War II.

A moment of peace and unity happens during the competition when the gymnasts Lee Eun-ju of South Korea and Hong Un-Jong of North Korea came together to take a selfie.

It is one of the rare moments to happen in a competition especially that there is a tension between the two countries. However, it is considered as part of history where in the people in both countries still have a one heart and unity among their hearts.

This reminds us that competition is not always about winning among each other. It promotes friendship and unity among the countries around the world.
