'Orange Is The New Black' Cast 'Crazy Eyes' Uzo Aduba Leaving Show? New Play Announced?
"Orange is the New Black" cast member "Crazy Eyes" is reportedly leaving the show after season 4.
Uzo Aduba, who plays the role of Suzanne or "Crazy Eyes" in the series is undoubtedly one of the most memorable members of the cast, according to fans. Recently, the SAG Awards and Emmy-winning actress recently revealed that she has been cast to star in a play entitled "The Maids" on West End, London.
"I wanted to desperately do a play, and all of a sudden plays started falling out of the air!" Uzo Aduba told Digital Spy. "Jamie [Lloyd] and I got on the phone together, and there is no female actor that doesn't want to make The Maids a part of their catalogue, whichever role."
"So we got on the phone, and it was just magical. He had vision, ideas, he's inventive, just on the phone I could sense a generous spirit from him," The "Orange is the New Black" cast member added.
Moreso, the address added that being on the broadway stage has always been her dream.
"Moving to New York, I had three dreams: doing an off-Broadway show, a Broadway show and a West End show if I was lucky enough," she said. "And right now, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."
This has sparked rumors that she might be leaving the show for good because of the apparent change in career. While unconfirmed, some fans are convinced that Uzo is set to leave for sure.
In other news, Netflix had recently announced that the hit series has been renewed for three more seasons after the fourth one.
"Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things," series creator Jeni Kohan said in a statement. "In some cultures, 'May you lead an interesting life,' is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures."
"Here's to keeping it interesting," she added. "Thanks Netflix!"
As to whether "Orange is the New Black" cast member Uzo Aduba is really leaving, the creator has yet to confirm.
