Hyeyeon, Formerly Of Gugudan, Has Signed With Beyond J As An Actress +New Stage Name!

Hyeyeon, former member of the K-pop girl group Gugudan, has now transitioned from a K-pop idol into acting. Notably, Hyeyeon first debuted as a member of Gugudan in 2016 prior to her eventual departure from the K-pop girl group in 2018.

On the 4th of March, Beyond J officially revealed that Hyeyeon has gone on to sign an exclusive contract with the label and would be promoting as an actress under her new stage name Jo Aram.

Specifically, Beyond J is a drama production company that is popular for K-dramas such as "The Ghost Detective," "The Secret Life of My Secretary," and last year's "Nevertheless." The agency is also responsible for the production of the upcoming tvN K-drama "The Killer's Shopping List," which stars Lee Kwang Soo and AOA's Seolhyun.

Beyond J's statement on signing Hyeyeon is as follows:

"Jo Aram is full of a bright, lovable energy that captures the attention of those who see her. She has unlimited hidden potential as an actress, and we are looking forward to her future activities. As actress Jo Aram, who is full of dreams, attempts to take a leap forward and begin her acting career in earnest, we plan to work and journey together with her so that she can pursue a broad array of activities through a wide variety of platforms and projects. We ask that you please give her lots of love, interest, and support."

Hyeyeon, now known as Jo Aram, also commented on the signing by noting that from now on, she wants to greet viewers as an actress through her future projects. The former K-pop idol added that she is very happy and excited to be making a fresh start as an actress. 

"As I start out with a new mindset, I will become a good actress who learns diligently, works hard, and acts with sincerity," Jo Aram revealed positively.
