2021 ended on a weird note for SM Entertainment's K-pop girl group as, during their final performances in award ceremonies and music shows at the end of the year, aespa was targeted with lip-syncing allegations.

Netizens went on to say that since their debut until now, the amount of times aespa sang live was extremely few, and due to this, lip-syncing against aespa was brought up. The K-pop girl group was apparently aware of this, most notably Winter.

Notably, the K-pop girl group went on to shut down the allegations as they performed "Dreams Come True" on "Inkigayo" on the 9th of January. This was proven when a clip of aespa's Winter supposedly not singing her line on purpose surfaced.

This was apparently the K-pop idol's response to the lip-syncing allegations towards aespa.

Netizens and fans believe that aespa's Winter chose not to sing on purpose. In "Dreams Come True," Winter's initial lines were "You gotta be mind" prior to singing "Dreams Come True."

But when it came to the K-pop idol's turn, aespa's Winter stayed silent, looking directly at the camera with a sly smile.

This has directly made K-pop fans believe that the members of aespa do not, in fact, lip-sync. SM Entertainment's female K-pop artists are notably known for their vocal range, and aespa plans on continuing this SMTown legacy.

Due to Winter's actions on "Inkigayo," MYs (the fandom name of aespa) hope that the lip-sync allegation will finally be put to rest, and more netizens will now believe that the SM Entertainment K-pop girl group has the vocal talent to back up their visuals and personality.
