aespa, Weeekly, STAYC, & More: The Top Rising Rookie K-Pop Artists Of 2021!
At the end of 2021, K-pop Radar shared their Rising Artists of 2021 list, which they based on the combined number of music video views and SNS (social networking site) followers not long after their debut. Find out if your favorite rookie K-pop group made the cut!
At the top of the list is SM Entertainment's rookie K-pop girl group aespa. As per K-pop Radar, aespa was able to get 4.6 million more followers on Instagram and 1.2 million new followers on Twitter in the previous year.
In aespa's YouTube, the K-pop girl group's MV was able to garner hundreds of millions of views. Specifically, aespa's "Next Level" MV got 194 million views, while the "Savage" MV received 151 million views. The "Forever" MV was seen 47 million times.
In second place is IST Entertainment's rookie K-pop girl group Weeekly. Notably, Weeekly's Instagram and Twitter pages respectively garnered 739.1K and 152.2K. Additionally, Weeekly's MV, such as "After School" got 117 million YouTube views while the "Holiday Party" had 24 million views.
BELIFT LAB's rookie K-pop boy group ENHYPEN went on to comfortably sit at the third spot. The K-pop boy group is the first K-pop group formed under the label. ENHYPEN was able to collect 4.9 million more Instagram followers and 4.3 million additional Twitter followers.
In 2021, ENHYPEN's most popular MVs were "Drunk-Dazed," which got 63 million views, "FEVER," with 61 million views, the "Hey Tayo," having 23 million views, and "Tamed-Dashed" having 27 million views.
In 4th place is High Up Entertainment's rookie K-pop girl group STAYC. In 2021, the K-pop girl group collected 754.5K new Instagram followers and 289.1K new Twitter followers. STAYC's "STEREOTYPE" MV got 49 million views, while the "ASAP" MV got 45 million views.
Rounding off the ranking is YG Entertainment's rookie K-pop boy group TREASURE.
In the previous year, TREASURE collected 1.3 million more followers on Instagram and 1.5 million followers on Twitter. The K-pop boy group's most popular MV was "MY TREASURE" as it got 38 million times.
