As of writing this article, today on the 11th of January, the hashtags #BLACKPINKCOMEBACKNOW and #STOPDELAYINGBLACKPINK have trended worldwide as fans demand a BLACKPINK comeback from their label, YG Entertainment.
Almost a year has passed since BLINKs, the fandom name of BLACKPINK, were able to see the K-pop girl group have a complete comeback. Notably, BLACKPINK dropped their first studio album, "The Album," in October of 2020, and then they held their first online virtual concert, "The Show," in January of 2021.

Due to this, fans of the K-pop girl group have now had enough and are demanding updates from BLACKPINK's label, YG Entertainment.
BLINKs are getting impatient and worried as 2022 is the final year of BLACKPINK's contract with YG Entertainment. The agency has still not revealed their plans for a BLACKPINK comeback or if they are indeed planning to have a complete musical release in K-pop.
The BLACKPINK members have recently been concentrating on their solo activities. Evidently, Jennie was able to open her YouTube channel, Rosé and Lisa made their solo debuts in K-pop, and Jisoo focussed on acting, starring in JTBC's "Snowdrop."
Adding to this, the solo debuts of BLACKPINK members Rosé and Lisa were highly praised by fans and saw a huge amount of success. Due to this, fans of the K-pop girl group have speculated that they might not re-sign due to their solo success.
Another rumor that has gotten BLINKs confused is that YG Entertainment is planning to send the K-pop girl group on a world tour. Fans are upset as if the rumor was true. This would mean that BLACKPINK would have no new songs to sing, repeating their previous releases.
Some BLINKs have even sent a letter to YG Entertainment demanding an immediate update regarding BLACKPINK's activities, threatening to boycott all of the K-pop girl group's merch.
