Kep1er To Have Sibling Group? Mnet Confirms Male Version Of ‘Girls Planet 999’ Coming!

To the delight of netizens and fans, Mnet has finally confirmed and announced that there will be a male version of their immensely popular audition program previously called "Girls Planet 999"!

Mnet's "Girls Planet 999" broadcasted from August to October of this year and was an audition survival show which starred female contestants of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese descent who all wanted to debut as K-pop stars.

Notably, the contestants were all vying for a spot to debut as a member of a K-pop girl group previously called "Girls Planet." In the Mnet show, actor Yeo Jin Goo was the MC, aka the "Planet Master," while K-pop legends Sunmi and Girls' Generation's Tiffany were mentors, aka the "K-Pop Masters."

The nine contestants who won on Mnet's "Girls Planet 999" are currently preparing for their debut as the K-pop girl group called Kep1er in January of 2022 to the excitement of netizens and viewers.

To make fans even more excited, on the 11th of December at 6 p.m. KST, Mnet started airing an announcement at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (aka 2021 MAMA), which contained very fun news. 

In the broadcast, Mnet confirmed that a survival show called "Boys Planet" is broadcasting next year. In the Mnet announcement video, they announced, "A signal from a new planet. We await the boys who will go on a global journey together."

Not long after the broadcast, Mnet went on to clarify that they are now accepting applications from possible contestants, and it will last until the 11th of February, 2022. Are you excited about Mnet's "Boys Planet"?
