Netizens and BLINKs make the #ApologizeToJennie trend worldwide due to a news outlet's mistake!

On the 5th of October, Christophe Babin, the CEO of BVLGARI, announced that BLACKPINK's Lisa was not going to be participating in BVLGARI's events in Milano this year due to YG Entertainment's declaration.

Not long after the news was shared, BLINKs (the fandom name of BLACKPINK) went to social media to express their distaste regarding the issue, and notably, multiple news outlets dropped updates and information on the issue.

Among the media outlets that released updates was a Thai outlet called The Thai Enquirer. But adding to the distaste of fans, after the media outlet released a tweet about the topic, the Thai publication added multiple hashtags and among the hashtags confusingly had Jennie's name.

A lot of netizens and BLINKs were confused as the topic was only about BLACKPINK Lisa and many were unsure why BLACKPINK Jennie's name was tagged.

Notably, if all the members of BLACKPINK were tagged, it would have been more acceptable but singling out Jennie in the news that did not revolve around her was unnecessary.

Not long after BLINKs saw the post, the BLACKPINK fandom once again went to social media to demand an apology from the news outlet, also asking for the tweet to be removed. Some have even expressed the whole reason as to why it was unacceptable.

The Thai Enquirer has since edited their tweet, but fans have kept screenshots and BLINKs are still adamant in demanding an apology. Due to this, fans of BLACKPINK have been trending the hashtag #ApologizeToJennie.

Netizens and BLINKs are also questioning YG Entertainment's ability to defend their artists. Fans have brought up how insufficient YG Entertainment's reaction was to previous issues regarding the members of BLACKPINK.

Stay tuned for more news and updates regarding the matter!
