The video game that took the world by storm in 2013 is finally releasing its live-action show counterpart under HBO and netizens can no longer wait due to their extreme excitement.

"Game of Thrones" veterans, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, are HBO's version of Joel and Ellie in the first photo release for HBO's "The Last of Us" show.

The program is a high-end series adaptation of the Sony Playstation franchise from the creators of "Chernobyl," Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.

The HBO show is based on the critically acclaimed video game "The Last of Us'' which was developed by Naughty Dog exclusively for the PlayStation platforms. Notably, the plot takes twenty years after modern civilization has been wiped out.

Pedro Pascual's Joel is a hardened survivor in the hellscape and he is hired to smuggle Bella Ramsey's Ellie who is a 14-year-old girl, out of a strict quarantine zone.

Initially starting off as a simple job immediately turns into an extremely brutal, heartbreaking, and difficult journey, as both Joel and Ellie must travel across the U.S. and depend on each other to survive.

Pedro Pascal's Joel is tormented by his past due to failure and he must traverse across a very ruined America as he protects a girl who represents the last hope for humanity against the pandemic.

Notably, Kantemir Balagov is directing the pilot episode of HBO's "The Last Of Us," a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, to the relief of fans.

Furthermore, both Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin will write and executive produce the show.

Additionally, Carolyn Strauss will also be an executive producer alongside Evan Wells, Naughty Dog president, and both Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions.
