THE BOYZ, Apink, & Weeekly Now Labelmates As Cre.Ker & Play M To Have Merger!

Pink Pandas (the fandom name of Apink), Dailees (the fandom name of Weeekly), and THE Bs (the fandom name of THE BOYZ) now cheer under one flag as Apink, Weeekly, and THE BOYZ are going to be under one company!

As of writing this article, today on the 17th of September, Weekly and Apink's agency Play M Entertainment and THE BOYZ's agency Cre.Ker Entertainment have released an announcement revealing that the two companies will be having a merger, combining into one label.

As per a press release shared by Kakao Entertainment, Cre.Ker Entertainment and Play M Entertainment will be merging into one company. Furthermore, both Play M Entertainment and Cre.Ker Entertainment are subsidiaries of Kakao Entertainment.

Moreover, the decision was made after directors from both Cre.Ker Entertainment and Play M Entertainment separately agreed on the merger, making the procedure seamless and direct.

The merger will happen at the end of 2021. Jang Hyun Jin, Play M Entertainment's CEO, and Yoon Young Ro, Cre.Ker Entertainment's CEO, will be leading the newly merged company together. 

Details such as the new agency's name and further details have not been announced as of writing this article.

Following this, Kakao Entertainment released an announcement:

"We will work closely with both companies to help create a strong synergy and expand their influence across a variety of industries. We will also help reinforce the strengths of each label. We will continue to make similar advancements in our multi-label system to strengthen our competitiveness in this industry."
