Released on the 9th of July, "Permission to Dance" by BTS continues the K-pop boy group's amazing run on Billboard's "Hot 100." This was recently evident as BTS' "Permission to Dance" takes over the #1 spot from BTS' "Butter" on the famous chart.

The "Hot 100" is Billboard's popular weekly ranking of the most famous tracks in the United States.

As of writing this article, on the 19th of July, Billboard revealed that "Permission to Dance," BTS's latest track, made its debut on Billboard's "Hot 100" on the #1 spot. Only a handful of artists have done this before.

This is big news for ARMYs (the fandom name of BTS) and HYBE Label's BTS due to the fact that "Permission to Dance" taking over the top ranking spot which was held prior by BTS's track, "Butter" was able to hold the number 1 spot for a breaking seven consecutive weeks.

Notably, BTS's "Permission to Dance" is the K-pop boy group's fifth song to make it to #1 on Billboard's "Hot 100." The prior BTS songs being "Dynamite," "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)" with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, "Life Goes On," and "Butter."

To the amazement of most people, 10 months was all BTS needed to have five songs turning into #1 hit. This is a close record compared to Michael Jackson's 9 months which occurred from 1987 to 1988.

As per Billboard, BTS is the 4th artist with at least four debuts on the #1 spot for Billboard's "Hot 100." The other artists being Ariana Grande with five, Justin Bieber with four, and Drake with four.

Moreover, BTS is also one of the few artists to overtake themselves on the #1 spot on Billboard's "Hot 100." The last artist to do so in 2018 was Drake.

Congratulations to BTS and their amazing achievement!
