‘Vincenzo’ Star Kwak Dong Yeon Offered To Lead New Drama By ‘Train to Busan’ Director

Actor Kwak Dong Yeon most recently portrayed the role of Jang Han Seo for the highly popular 2021 drama "Vincenzo." The 24-year-old actor starred alongside Song Joong Ki and captured the heart of the audience with his on-point portrayal of Babel Group's second son.

Now, Kwak Dong Yeon is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming drama by director Yeon Sang Ho who is the mastermind behind worldwide hit movies "Train to Busan" and "Peninsula." Such reports were confirmed by Kwak Dong Yeon's agency H& Entertainment.

"Kwak Dong Yeon was offered the role of Yong Ju, and he is currently reviewing it positively," H& Entertainment stated.

The drama "Monstrous" will revolve around the story of an archaeologist who will get on his way to solve a bizarre case. If Kwak Dong Yeon accepts the offer to take on the main lead for Yeon Sang Ho's "Monstrous" he will be starring alongside "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" actor Koo Kyu Hwan. Based on the reports, nothing is yet to be set in stone for the drama.

The 24-year-old actor first got his big break in 2012 for his supporting role in the hit family drama "My Husband Got a Family." Since then, Kwak Dong Yeon has starred in numerous dramas including "Golden Rainbow," "Modern Farmer," "The Flatterer," "Pied Piper," "The Master of Revenge," "Love in the Moonlight," "Radio Romance," "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty," "My Strange Hero," "Never Twice," and "Vincenzo."

Aside from "Monstrous," Kwak Dong Yeon is also in talks to join "Youth of May" actor Lee Do Hyun for the drama "Hounds." It will be a live-action adaptation from the webtoon "Hunting Dogs" and will revolve around three men who try to escape their debt. Meanwhile, he is also cast for the 2022 Korean film "6/45."
