‘True Beauty’ Star Hwang In Yeop Is Considering New Drama With Seo Hyun Jin

On May 24, reports about Hwang In Yeop's upcoming drama project surfaced. In response, Hwang In Yeop's agency, KeyEast Entertainment, released a statement confirming that the rising actor indeed received an offer to play the male lead role in the drama with the literal title "Why Oh Soo Hae?." Additionally, the agency stated that as of the moment, Hwang In Yeop is currently reviewing the offer and is positively considering it.

 "Hwang In Yeop has been proposed to appear in SBS's new drama 'Why Oh Soo Hae?' and is considering it," KeyEast Entertainment said.

According to reports, the upcoming SBS drama "Why Oh Soo Hae?" is set in a law school and involves a student-teacher romance. Hwang In Yeop is offered to portray the role of Gong Chan, a first-year law school student who owns a tavern bar. He met Oh Soo Hae, played by Seo Hyun Jin, in the past after being framed in a case. Fast forward to the present, he meets her once again but this time as his professor at law school.

The drama "Why Oh Soo Hae?" is scheduled to air in the second half of the year to early 2022. It will be written by Kim Ji Eun who was also behind "Cheingdamdong Scandal (2015)" and "Lie After Lie (2020)." Meanwhile, "Why Oh Soo Hae?" will be directed by Park Soo Jin who worked on a variety of trending dramas throughout his career, including "While You Were Sleeping (2017)," "Dr. Romantic (2016)," and "Doctors (2016)."

Hwang In Yeop's most notable role was portraying Han Seo Joon of the drama "True Beauty (2021)." Aside from his break-out role in "True Beauty," Hwang In Yeop also starred in "The Tale of Nokdu (2019)" and "18 Again (2020). Furthermore, the 30-year-old is set to lead the upcoming Netflix drama "The Sound of Magic" together with Ji Chang Wook and Choi Sung Eun.
