JYP Entertainment’s TWICE Reached A Milestone No Other Global Girl Group Has Reached Before

The music video for TWICE's hit Japanese track, "Breakthrough," was able to garner over 100 million views on YouTube on the 15th of May. Released on the 12th of June, 2019, TWICE's "Breakthrough" took one year and 11 months to reach this milestone.

As of writing this article on the 19th of May, TWICE's music video for their Japanese track, "Breakthrough," currently has 100,362,099 views, 1.6 million likes, and 108,588 comments. Thus, signifying TWICE's third Japanese track music video to go beyond 100 million hits on YouTube.

TWICE's first Japanese song being "Candy Pop," dropping on the 12th of January, 2018. TWICE's "Candy Pop" music video reached the 100 million views milestone on the 30th of April, being one year and four months prior to the release of the music video of "Candy Pop."

The second music video for a Japanese track under TWICE to reach 100 million views is the Japanese version of "TT." TWICE's MV for "TT" was uploaded on the 21st of June, 2017. Only in December of 2020 did "TT" accumulate 100 million views.

To add to their belt, TWICE also has 14 Korean music videos with over 100 million views. The MVs being "Like OOH-AHH," "Cheer Up," "Signal," "Heart Shaker," "TT" (Korean version), "Knock Knock," "Likey," "What Is Love?," "YES or YES," "Dance the Night Away," "Feel Special," "FANCY," "MORE & MORE," and "I Can't Stop Me."

At present, JYP Entertainment's TWICE now has 17 music videos with over 100 million views on YouTube. This record is the most among not just K-pop girl groups but all-girl groups globally. 

Trailing behind JYP Entertainment's TWICE is Little Mix spanning 16 music videos with 100 million views. Little Mix is only behind TWICE by one music video.
