SM Entertainment's Red Velvet is one of the biggest names in the K-pop industry. Last 2019, one member, Wendy, suffered an accident and went on hiatus as she recovered. Recently, she returned, and the group is expected to make a comeback sometime around April of this year.

As Wendy recovered, Red Velvet let their members venture into a sub-group release and their solo careers. More specifically, Yeri, the maknae of Red Velvet, debuted in the acting industry last March 4 with her tvN one-episode short K-drama "Mint Condition."

The day after her K-drama was released, Yeri celebrated her 22nd birthday on March 5. On her birthday, Yeri did something very heartwarming and decided to give a donation.

As per NAVER news, last Friday, March 5, during Yeri's birthday, Red Velvet's maknae donated money to "Jusarang Community's Baby Box" so she can assist families who only have single mothers and additionally to "baby box" infants.

This organization gives counsel to single mothers, provides baby care equipment, gives financial aid, and ensures the safety and protection of infants who are abandoned via its dropbox initiative. The full donation amount was set to be 10 million Korean won which is a little over $8,800 dollars.

Red Velvet's Yeri did this as an initial action plan as Red Velvet's maknae has a goal to create unique kits for the care of infants for single mothers who have children under the age of 3 years old.

Yeri shared that on her birthday, she wanted to share a bit of the love that she's received and so she can give back. Yeri hopes that everyone, including children, will stay healthy and have strength during this time because things have been difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Red Velvet's Yeri truly has a heart of gold and this action on her birthday shows how much she really cares for people.
