Wed Thurs Fri Cast: Shin Min-ah, Lee Jin-uk, Yoo Teo (MBC)

Shin Min-ah, Lee Jin-uk and Yoo Teo have been confirmed to star in MBC's upcoming romance drama "Wed Thurs Fri" (literal title), with a premiere set for the first half of 2027, Soompi reported Thursday, citing a Naver report.

The 12-episode series is about a first love who returns after 12 years, setting up a second chance at love. It takes place in a restaurant also called "Wed Thurs Fri," which opens only on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Soompi lists its themes as love, forgiveness and personal growth. Soompi calls the English title literal, so an official English title may still be announced.

Shin plays Cha Eun-soo, who walks back into the life of the man she parted from 12 years ago while hiding her real intentions. After that breakup she became another man's wife, but the character wants a different life than the one she has.

Lee plays Kim Dong-woo, the restaurant's chef. He is haunted by a first love he failed to hold on to and has lived emotionally detached since. He works three days a week and does nothing for the other four, until Cha Eun-soo comes through his door.

Yoo plays Lee Won-pil, Cha Eun-soo's husband and an executive director at Hangu Construction. Soompi's summary describes him as competent and wealthy but unable to love, with a way of protecting people that is far from conventional.

Jung Dong-yoon directs. His credits include the "Gyeongseong Creature" series and "Stove League." Joo Hyun, who wrote "The World of the Married," is the screenwriter, and Kang Eun-kyung, who wrote the "Dr. Romantic" series, is attached as creator.

Production appears to be underway already. A Korean report in mid-September showed Shin visiting a coffee truck delivered to the set of her next project, "Wed Thurs Fri," according to a post from the truck's vendor.

The announcement is an official confirmation of casting that was reported earlier. Soompi had earlier written that Shin was in talks and that Lee was reported to be joining.

For international viewers, nothing has been said about where the series will stream outside Korea. MBC has not named an air slot or a premiere date, and no other cast members were included in the announcement. Soompi's article points readers to Shin's earlier drama "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho" and Lee's "Dear Hyeri," both listed on Viki.

The series is slated for the first half of 2027.
