Jimin's World Cup Halftime Shirt Sold for $110,000. It's Now in the Same Auction Company Bracket as Marilyn Monroe's Dresses.
A shirt BTS's Jimin wore during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show sold for $110,000 at Christie's on July 29, tying the top bid of the week-long "One Goal" charity auction with the official match ball from the Spain-Argentina final. Christie's had estimated the shirt at $3,000 to $5,000 before bidding started - a mark it cleared by more than 20 times.
The Agro Studio-designed piece - a white jersey with red trim, worn during BTS's "Dynamite" performance at MetLife Stadium on July 19 - pulled in bids from collectors across 24 countries before the auction closed on July 29. It now sits in the same price range Christie's has recorded for stage- and screen-worn pieces from Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana, a bracket auction houses don't usually associate with K-pop stage costumes.
Jimin's shirt wasn't the only BTS item to outperform its estimate. Together, the seven pieces the group's members donated - including V's scarf and Jungkook's jacket, which each sold for $46,200, and Suga's pants at $33,000 - brought in $300,300, or 46% of the auction's total $652,630 haul. Every single BTS item sold for well beyond its pre-auction estimate; some sold for more than 20 times the low end of that range. All proceeds go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which funds education and sports access for children in more than 200 countries and has set a $100 million fundraising goal.
BTS is currently mid-tour on "ARIRANG," with stops at MetLife Stadium - the same venue where the World Cup halftime show took place - scheduled for early September. The World Cup shirt won't travel with them - it belongs to whoever placed the winning bid now, whose identity Christie's has not disclosed. What does travel is the number: a $110,000 charity sale for a garment that was, a week earlier, just stagewear the group wore for a five-minute performance of a six-year-old song.
