Summoners War Championship 2025: Asia-Pacific Cup Kicks Off in Busan with Eight Elite Players
BUSAN, South Korea - The final regional qualifier for the Summoners War World Arena Championship 2025 began Friday at Busan Esports Arena, bringing together eight top competitors vying for three tickets to the World Finals in Paris.
Com2uS opened the Asia-Pacific Cup on October 18 with an afternoon ceremony featuring host Heo Jun, who introduced the competing players to an enthusiastic crowd. The tournament marks the first time the company has hosted a major Summoners War event in Busan, South Korea's second-largest city.
Tournament Features Top Regional Talent
The eight-player roster includes defending world champion KELIANBAO, who won last year's finals in Tokyo, alongside regional standouts PU, SCHOLES, ZZI-SOONG, TAKUZO10, ETOWARU, FRANK, and TC. Korean players SCHOLES and ZZI-SOONG drew strong support from local fans.
Competition follows a single-elimination bracket with best-of-five matches. The quarterfinal lineup pits PU against SCHOLES, FRANK versus KELIANBAO, ZZI-SOONG facing TAKUZO10, and ETOWARU taking on TC.
Road to Paris
Only the top three finishers earn spots at the November 1 World Finals in Paris, where they'll join nine other qualifiers from regional competitions across Europe and the Americas. The tournament also includes two spots from a China qualifier and one from an open qualifier.
Earlier regional cups saw closed-door competition in Europe on September 20 and RAIGEKI claiming the Americas title in São Paulo on October 11.
The Asia-Pacific Cup streams live on the Summoners War Esports YouTube channel with commentary in 13 languages including Korean, Japanese, English, French, German, and Chinese.
Venue and Fan Experience
Busan Esports Arena, located in the Samjung Tower in the city's commercial Seomyeon district, opened in 2020 with a 292-seat capacity designed for esports and entertainment events. Attendees receive welcome packages containing merchandise including event-branded bags, lights, shirts, and towels.
Photo booths, match prediction contests, and an official merchandise store offer additional activities throughout the event.
The championship, now in its ninth year, represents the premier competitive tournament for Summoners War: Sky Arena, Com2uS's mobile RPG that has attracted over 200 million players worldwide since launch.
