Hayden Christensen To Return In 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' As Anakin Skywalker?

There are various speculations whether Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming "Star Wars" movies.

These rumors excite "Star Wars" fans and speculations are flying as to what Anakin Skywalker's plot will be in Episode VIII or Rogue One.

Vanity Fair wrote an article as to how Hayden Christensen's role was supposed to appear in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

"We may still see this disfigured, hybrid Force ghost version of Anakin but the bigger question is who will he be haunting?" the article wrote.

"Many suppose it's Rey who, as we saw in The Force Awakens, is, well, waking up to her connection to the Skywalker family. Whatever that may be. The other likely candidate is Luke. In other version of the Anakin concept art, you can see him perched over the shoulder of present-day Luke Skywalker."

Hayden Christensen has earlier said that portraying the role of Anakin Skywalker in the "Star Wars" trilogy prequel movies might have been the reason why he didn't pursue any movie of TV projects after it.

"I guess I felt like I had this great thing in Star Wars that provided all these opportunities and gave me a career, but it all kind of felt a little too handed to me," Hayden Christensen recently said, as quoted by Vanity Fair in a separate report.

"I didn't want to go through life feeling like I was just riding a wave," he added

"You can't take years off and not have it affect your career," Christensen said, as quoted by MTV.com. "But I don't know - in a weird, sort of destructive way, there was something appealing about that to me."

"There was something in the back of my head that was like, 'If this time away is gonna be damaging to my career, then so be it. If I can come back afterward and claw my way back in, then maybe I'll feel like I earned it,'" the actor added.

Christensen is starring in faith-centric movie entitled "90 Minutes in Heaven."

IMDB described the plot of the movie as the following: "A man involved in a horrific car crash is pronounced dead, only to come back to life an hour and a half later, claiming to have seen Heaven."

If he intends to go back to making movies, Hayden Christensen might need to up his game of finding projects, as "Star Wars" producers are yet to finalize whether Anakin Skywalker is part of the plans of its upcoming movies.
