John Stamos Says ‘Full House’ Reunion Is ‘So Fun’ Even Without The Olsen Twins
John Stamos might have thrown a little shade down the Olsen twins' way during a guesting appearance at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel in connection to the "Full House" reunion.
When the topic of the "Fuller House" was raised, "Uncle Joey" said that it was normal that not everyone would be there.
"It was just like a family reunion where some of the family members didn't show up," the actor said, per E! News. "Young girls are hosting binge parties all night, and Saget is going to go to each one of the parties."
Even without the Olsen twins, however, John Stamos said that working on the "Full House" reunion is like meeting an old friend, or smelling something familiar.
"A lot of the old stories came back up," he said. "You know, we used to carpool together, the three of us, to work. This is a 100 percent true story; Bob tells it. We were driving and someone got hit in front of us-jackknife-spinning around. We bolt out, the three of us, and the woman was unconscious in the car, and she comes to and the three faces she looks up at are Bob [Saget], Dave [Coulier] and me. It was like she died and went to sitcom hell or something."
Multiple reports claimed that there was some tension between the Olsen twins and John Stamos, which was pointed out as the reason why Mary-Kate and Ashley were not as enthusiastic about joining the "Full House" reunion.
"I think there was some confusion. They said first I didn't ask them. And I didn't personally, but I was told they were asked," he told Howard Stern of Sirius XM. "So, I had a knee-jerk reaction and said, 'Bulls--t, I did ask them.' And they got upset, so I did call and talked to Mary-Kate and explained what the show is going to be and told them I'd love for them to be on there and they decided not to, which I respect."
John Stamos understood that the Olsen twins, who have built a billion-dollar fashion empire, didn't feel like actresses and were not comfortable doing "Full House" reunion.
"Fuller House" will premiere on Netflix on Feb. 26.
