Demi Lovato posted a Twitter message about being sober on New Year, while other people her age are out drinking and partying. The post was reported by Daily Mail, which made it seem like the former Disney star is completely over the additions that she went through when she was still a teen star.

After waking up with a headache on the first day of 2016, the singer took to her social media page to joke about how she got herself sick without drinking on New Year's Eve.

"I have the worst headache this morning and I didn't even drink last night," she wrote. Fans speculated that the 23-year-old singer probably got tired from her performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve party with Ryan Seacrest in New York City.

The "Cool for the Summer" singer then joked about those who probably partied hard to ring in the new year. "God bless those hungover today...May the hydration be with you," she tweeted.

Aside from Demi Lovato's Twitter message about staying sober, the 23-year-old singer-actress also shared an Instagram post to reminisce about 2015, where she became more open about her previous battles with alcoholism and drugs.

"As incredible as this year was, this year was also extremely rough," she wrote.

"Filled with some of the highest highs, I experienced some of the lowest lows."

"I said hello to a lot of amazing experiences and said goodbye to many that I love but everything happens for a reason and my skin got a lot thicker this year," she added.

The former child star began being talking about her struggles with drinking and drugs in 2013, which was detailed in an interview with Access Hollywood.

"I couldn't go 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes," she narrated. "I think at 19 years old, I had a moment where I was like, 'Oh my God...that is alcoholic behavior... [It's] no longer, I'm young and rebellious and out having fun, it was, 'wow, I'm one of those people...I gotta get my s**t together."

Since her Twitter post, Demi Lovato has gotten more followers than before.
