Samsung's Refrigerator With Touch Screen Announced; Allows Voice Input, Browse And Purchase Options!
Samsung Inc's next idea about integrating technology into people's lives is a Smart Refrigerator with a touch screen.
There are pictures over the internet of this new device which looks like a photoshop-ed image of a Standard smart fridge with a huge smartphone pasted on one of its doors. It also depicts the Android-style capacitive buttons on the bottom.
As cited by Androidheadlines, CES(Consumer electronics show) 2016 that is about to begin this week and there are many products liking up for the biggest show of the year and there was a poster showing a picture of a smart refrigerator from Samsung that had a big touch screen display on.
It is unclear if this smart fridge would be using Android, Tizen or any other Operating system. Fans are saying that hopefully Samsung isn't really taking a UI designed for a 5 inch smartphone and incorporating it onto a refrigerator door.
According to the looks decribed by theverge.com, this new Smart Fridge will have similar functionalities and capabilities as its other refrigerators released in the past. You might be able to make a shopping list, read News, play music and also leave digital sticky notes-reminders. It also appears like there might be a voice input, as in, if you're instructing to the refrigerator. In addition to this, there might be other features to track what is or isn't in its freezer and for keeping track of the expiry dates of the products stored. These are all software tricks that the company has boasted about earlier. Apparently, there are some other surprising features lined up: A screen featuring "Groceries by MasterCard" that lets you Browse and purchase groceries and other required items. There is also Calendar, Pandora and Weather apps.
There will be more information about the new Samsung refrigerator with touch screen technology only when the company officially announces and confirms the product, which fans are saying would probably be during the CES 2016. As to the pricing, the unit is expected to be pegged at about $4000.
