Xiaomi Mi 5 Image Leaked Ahead Of Anticipated Release Date; Hints 2.5D Glass Screen
Purported image of the Xiaomi Mi 5 makes the round ahead of its anticipated release date.
The upcoming flagship smartphone has been reportedly arriving early this year. As leaks have been ramping up, the latest press render image leaked gives an overview of the Xiaomi Mi 5's design.
If the image that surfaced on Weibo is legitimate, it confirms a physical home button. It is believed to house a fingerprint scanner which rumors claim as the "smallest and fastest sensor," according to G for Games .
The leaked press render image also revealed its color options of white, black, pink, and gold, GSM Arena reported.
G for Games added that the leaked image is based on the Xiaomi Mi 5's design. It may not be accurate, but "at least very close to the final product," according to its source.
The source went on to claim that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will boast a 2.5D glass screen and a 3D back panel. Oppomart also revealed this detail on its listing along with a January release date. The 2016 flagship will also feature a USB Type-C connector, and speaker grilles at the bottom.
As for the specs, the Xioami Mi 5 is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch display with a 1,440 x 2,560 resolution and Apple iPhone 6s's Force Touch or 3D Touch pressure sensitive technology. It will be armed with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. While two storage options of 32GB/3GB and 64GB/4GB are expected. These variants are priced at 1,999 yuan and 2,299 yuan respectively.
Camera-wise, it will have a whopping 16MP camera that features autofocus, optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash features and a 6MP secondary camera.
Reportedly, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be supported by a removable 3,600 mAh battery compatible with Quick Charge 3 via its USB Type C connector. In addition, it will run Android 6.0 out of the box along with MIUI 7 UI.
