2016 Ford Bronco Release Date Announced? Fans Claim News As Hoax!
It's been 20 years since the launch of the old Ford Bronco and there have been countless rumors on the release date of an alleged 2016 Model. Since the American car manufacturer Ford motor company hasn't yet made any official announcements regarding this iconic vehicle, it is considered a hoax keeping in mind that the news came around starting April 1st(april fool's day).
Rumors also suggested that the launch was expected to happen during the next Detroit international Auto Show in January 2016. If at all that was to happen, It would be the first time in two decades that Ford Motor Company would have resumed its SUV production. Masterherald.com has cited that the previous official announcement about this iconic model had come in the year 2004 when the company projected it as a concept car for the very first time during the North American Motor show at Detroit. However, it is believed that at times Manufacturing companies might not really produce some concept cars. Thus making all these sound like a hoax.
The rumoured 2016 Ford Bronco was expected to be a concept car with regards to its looks. While the design could be fashionable at the moment, but if it is going to resemble the 2004 predicted model, with a box-like roof line, a short wheel base and rounded headlights like that of the 80s models. With such assumptions, the 2016 Ford Bronco might undoubtedly be qualified as a best-selling SUV, if in case the company started its production.
Rumors pertaining to the interiors had suggested that the new Ford Bronco might sport a wide LCD screen, "My Ford infotainment system" and a well equipped audio system. It might be equipped with aluminium and steel parts to make it light and resilient. Also, the 2004 model suggests that the 2016 Ford Bronco would come out looking like a hybrid of an SUV and a jeep making it an ideal vehicle for a jungle ride.
Expected features were:Two featured engine options- A 5.0-liter eight-cylinder Coyote gasoline engine generating 420 horsepower, a 4.9-liter six-cylinder Powerstroke diesel powertrain generating 330 horsepower with 645 pound-feet of torque, or a 5.8-liter 8-cylinder engine, having 662 horsepower with 631 pound-feet of torque. In addition to this, Two transmission options: a 6-speed 6R140 auto transmission or a 6-speed ZF-6 manual gearbox were also predicted.
KpopStarz cited that an interview with Ford personnel has confirmed that the reports about the 2016 Ford Bronco (since 2014) are not true as there is no current plan for a new Ford Bronco despite the fact that the company really values the iconic "Bronco" brand name.
