Guinness Book Of World Records Awards 'World's Youngest Professional Music Producer' To A 13-Year-Old Boy From Texas
Multi-instrumentalist, arranger, songwriter and producer from El Paso, Texas Brandon Bailey Johnson holds the record for "Youngest Professional Music Producer" in the world at 13 years of age.
PR Newswire reported on Aug 25 that the Guinness Book of World Records has awarded Johnson the title on Aug 24 after working with ReddOak Records, LLC as the sole producer of his debut album "My Journey," which has already been released commercially.
"I really don't know how to describe how I feel, I really can't," says Brandon. "It's a privilege and an honor to be in the Guinness Book of World Records, that is certain."
The album release party of the youngest music producer happened on Feb.21 at the Pizza Joint Downtown in El Paso, with more than 350 witnesses to The Guinness attempt.
USA Today reported on Monday that Brandon has personally written, sang and played all the instruments on all seven songs in his pop-rock album. The album has also been composed, arranged, produced and recorded by Brandon himself - working six to eight hours a day in his home studio.
"I never really thought about it until the morning my mom woke up and told me I was in," Brandon says referring to his Guinness award. "I mean, I would read the books for fun but I never thought I would actually be in it one day."
Even the mother of the world's youngest music producer has felt shocked while reading the email from Guinness World Records informing her of her son's prestigious title.
"I was absolutely stunned," Brandon's mother exclaims.
The talented Brandon Bailey Johnson has begun his formal music lessons at eight years old and has started writing songs at nine. Brandon is skilled at playing various instruments, including drums, percussion, guitar, bass, violin, keyboards and piano. To date, the world's youngest music producer has written and composed 35 songs and is currently recording his second album.
"I think of myself as any other 13-year-old," said Brandon. "I still go outside and run around in the street with my friends. When I'm not busy, I'm playing with my brother and my sister just being normal kids."
