BTS's Jimin has made Billboard history once again, with his hit single "Who" becoming the longest-charting song by a K-pop soloist on the Hot 100 after spending 32 consecutive weeks on the chart.

Jimin's 2024 track "WHO" hits 32 weeks on the chart, surpassing PSY's "Gangnam Style" which held the previous record at 31 weeks. This milestone makes "Who" only the third K-pop song in Hot 100 history to reach 30+ weeks, joining PSY's hit and BTS's own "Dynamite" (32 weeks).

The achievement is particularly remarkable considering Jimin was officially discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service on June 11, 2025, meaning much of this chart success occurred while he was serving in the military.

"Who" debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2024, marking Jimin's sixth solo entry on the chart. The song also claimed the top spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts upon release, making Jimin the second BTS member after Jungkook to achieve this feat as a solo artist.

Meanwhile, Jimin's solo album "MUSE" climbed back up to No. 109 in its 31st consecutive week on the Billboard 200-making Jimin the first Korean soloist in Billboard 200 history to chart an album for 31 weeks.

Jimin's previous breakthrough hit "Like Crazy" continues its own record-breaking run. The song became the longest-charting Korean song on the Billboard Global 200, staying on the chart for 60 consecutive weeks as of July 2024. "Like Crazy" became the first song by a Korean solo artist to debut at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in history, establishing Jimin as a trailblazer in the industry.

These achievements have significant implications for K-pop's global reach. Thanks to both Jungkook and Jimin's solo success, BTS has become the first group with multiple members to lead both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts independently.

Jimin's streaming numbers are equally impressive. As of January 2025, he became the first and only K-pop soloist to have two songs-"Like Crazy" and "Who"-each surpassing 1.3 billion streams on Spotify.

What makes these records even more extraordinary is that they were achieved while Jimin was completing his mandatory military service. Jimin and Jung Kook of BTS were officially discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service on Wednesday (June 11), with both having served in the Army's 5th Infantry Division.

During his service, Jimin received recognition for his excellent performance, earning an early promotion and being selected as a Special Class Warrior.

With six of seven BTS members now having completed their military service, fans are eagerly anticipating the group's full reunion. The seven members are expected to reunite for the 2025 BTS FESTA celebration on June 13-14, marking their 12th debut anniversary.

Jimin's continued chart dominance while serving his country demonstrates the lasting power of his artistry and the global appetite for K-pop music, setting the stage for even greater achievements when BTS returns as a complete group.
