Punks, musicologists, and fans alike were delighted to hear the news that the legendary CGBG bar, which was to most familiar with was the birthplace of New York's Punk music, is reopening at last over at the Newark Airport in New Jersey, according to sources.

The iconic CBGB bar served as the stepping stone and launching pad to numerous acclaimed bands such as The Ramones, Patti Smith, Talking Heads, and Blondie. The original bar closed down back in 2006 after CBGB agreed to shut its door succeeding a protracted real estate battle with the building's landlord, nonprofit organization that aids the homeless, as reported by the New York Times.

Pattis Smith performed her song, "Elegie," in front of a crowd who had lined up outside since the night before, and she stated that CBGB is a state of mind, courtesy of the source.

"There are new kids with new ideas all over the world," she said. "They'll make their own places-it doesn't matter whether it's here or wherever it is," Smith added further.

However, recent news unveiled that CBGB will reopen as a "lounge and bar," where it will least likely have a stage nor retain the notorious bathroom it originally had,  in Newark Airport in New Jersey, according to the Huffington Post.

It was reported that CBGB (originally known as CBGB & OMFUG, for Country Bluegrass and Other Music for Uplifting Gormandizers) will be renamed as the CBGB L.A.B (Lounge and Bar) as it reopens in New Jersey that will be under the command of Chef Harold Moore, who runs the upscale New York City eatery Commerce, as stated by the RollingStone.

The reimagined CBGB bar reopening at Newark Airport in New Jersey will be expected to serve its customers an "American fare in a fun environment recalling the legendary music venue," according to the Gothamist
