Oculus Rift Release Date And Price Discussed; First Version Done?
The Oculus Rift release date and price have been discussed, according to IT Pro.
The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality head-mounted display headset. The gadget was developed by Oculus VR. At first it was a Kickstarter campaign, which garnered $2.5 million for the development of the gadget. This gadget will have the first professional PC-based VR headset and will have a resolution of 1080x1200 per eye, a 90 Hz refresh rate and a great wide field of view. The headphones are also integrated in the Rift to provide a 3D audio effect.
The Oculus Rift release date and price is still not set in stone, but there are already discussions appearing around on the internet.
The exact release date of the Oculus Rift might not have been revealed yet by the developers. The company founder though, Palmer Luckey, has confirmed that the unit is still set for a first quarter release date this coming 2016, according to Attack of the Fanboy.
Thrilled to share some news: Manufacturing continues to go well, and we are still on-target for an awesome Rift launch in Q1!

A lot of followers of this gadget and the gamers can expect that this will be in their hands within the very first few months of 2016. There are also pre orders coming, according to Luckey and it will be after the New Year, according to GizMag.
While the Oculus Rift release date is not that vague anymore, the price of the gadget still remains a mystery, according to PC World. A while back, company founder Luckey discussed the cost of the gadget, but did not confirm the exact price for it. The retail price of the product could go for at least $350, but probably more. He explained that the figure is a result of investment in improved hardware.
"We're roughly in that ballpark... but it's going to cost more than that," he said. "And the reason for that is that we've added a lot of technology to this thing beyond what existed in the DK1 and DK2 [developer kit] days."
In addition, it was also announced that the first set of the Oculus Rifts have been sent to the developers already. This is to consider the final touches of the product and gauge the exact price for it.
