1969 Vintage Dodge Charger Barn Find Up For Auction; Has Only 20,553 Miles!

A rare 1969 vintage Dodge Charger, which has been sitting in a barn for more than 40 years, is up for auction in Kissimmee, Fla. next month, according to CNN Money.

Only 503 of the cars were ever built and the Charger going up for auction still has most of its original parts. This includes an original 440 Magnum engine, bucket seats and a white wing spoiler. The car has only 20, 553 miles on it, reported Mirror.

The town judge was the original owner, who bought the car for his wife. He later went back to the dealership where he bought the car and had them sell it in 1974. An 18-year old became the second owner, buying the vintage car for only $1,800.

The second owner, a future anesthesiologist wanted to drive a wild-looking Daytona down to Spring Break in Panama City. He had outrageous flames painted on the nose cone, which to this day is still on the car, revealed Hot Rod.

That owner who kept the car running until about four years ago, sold the 1969 vintage Dodge Charger to Charlie Lyons.

Lyons runs a restoration shop in Irvington, Alabama and is the one selling the car at the auction.

It will be sold in the condition it was when it was found in a barn, rust, torn up seats and peeling red paint.

The car could go for between $150,000 to $180,000, according to the largest collector's car auction house in the world, Mecum.

A restored version of the same car was sold in January for $900,000 at Mecum.

"This is not typical," said John Kraman, consignment director and NBC television commentator for Mecum Auctions. "The only reason we decided to embrace this car at a high price target is because of the significance of the car when it's restored."

Kraman added that the 1969 vintage Dodge Charger will likely need $100,000 worth of restoration work, shared MLive.

The car is headed to Kissimmee for the Jan. 15 to 24 auction.
