Apple's Free Next Day Delivery Announced For Dec. 23; What's The Most In-Demand Gift?
Apple announced on their recently updated website, that they are offering next day delivery on Dec. 23, to help last-minute shoppers give their products as gifts this holiday season, according to Fortune.
Usually, the company offers a two-day shipping window for items that are in-stock but like last year, they will offer overnight shipping for free.
For customers who will wait until Christmas Eve, Apple also offered an in-store pickup program that will allow procrastinators to to order online the last minute and pick up the items the same day. Orders though need to be in two hours prior the local Apple store's closing time, reported Business Insider.
Most stores in the United States are closed by 9 p.m., so last minute shoppers have to place orders by 7 in the evening.
Apple is pushing the smarwatch as a holiday gift, which has a starting price of $349. It is a gift affordable enough compared to the iPhone or a MacBook.
The Apple watch was the most talked about gift this Christmas season, according to IBM's Watson Trend analytic engine; however, it has been since surpassed by Samsung televisions. The iPhone though, is still undoubtedly the company's best-seller.
Forty eight million iPhones were sold in the last quarter compared to 5.7 million Mac desktop computers and 10 million iPads. Watch sales are not revealed by the company.
New products in the company could be popular gifts, these include the Apple TV, the bigger iPad, and a battery case that extends the life of the iPhone 6 in the past 12 months.
The tech company's extended return policy is now on the Apply Online Store and retail locations in Canada, United States, and other parts of the world.
Most of the accessories and products bought between Nov. 1 to Dec. 25 can be returned until Jan. 8, 2016. In some European countries, return dates may be extended until Jan. 20, revealed Mac Rumors.
If you order before 6 p.m. GMT in the United Kingdom, free overnight shipping "is usually standard on in-stock orders over 40 euros," cited Yahoo! Tech.
Apple's revenue this holiday season will up 5.2 percent over last year, believes Fortune analysts and still may be boosted by last-minute shoppers who will take advantage of the company's free next day delivery.
