In a rare instance, Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about his daughters during a televised news conference. Speaking before the reporters, Putin revealed a few things about his two daughters.

"My daughters live in Russia and studied only in Russia, I am proud of them," he said , as noted by NBC News Thursday. "They speak three foreign languages fluently. I never discuss my family with anyone."

"Every person has a right for their fate, they live their own life and do it with dignity," he added.

Daily Mail reported Thursday that the Russian president is sternly protective of the privacy of his family, which is why he rarely talks about them.

Talking about his daughter, Putin refused to mention where they are working.

"They are taking the first steps in their careers, but are making good progress. They are not involved in business or politics," he said.

"They have never been 'star' children, they have never got pleasure from the spotlight being directed on them. They just live their own lives."

The Russian president clarified that his daughters permanently reside in Russia.

"I've seen different reports about my daughters - the media were saying they are getting an education abroad and are living abroad. Now, thank God, this isn't the case. It's true: my daughters are living in Russia; they do not have any other permanent residence. They've only been studying at Russian universities," he said.

During the three-hour conference, Putin addressed several questions and concerns on foreign and domestic policy. He even mentioned the downing of a Russian jet near Turkey.

"I do not see any perspective to normalize relations with Turkey on a inter-governmental level. We'll have to go for further sanctions," Putin said.

The Russian leader also said his country is prepared to work with whoever will be elected as the next president of the United States.

"We are ready to work with any president, for whom the American people will vote," Putin said.
