Hideo Kojima forms a new studio after he officially leaves Konami, according to VG247.

This all started when it was reported that Kojima had issues with Konami, the game company he was working with. From there, the situation got worse. Suddenly, Konami erased his name from the recent game that he developed, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." Many fans were outraged and rumors escalated.

After a while, it was rumored that Kojima has left the company, but Konami denied the claims. Recently, during The Game Awards 2015, Geoff Keighley, the host, revealed that Kojima was barred from attending the show. Again, the fans were upset with the new update. Even former Square Enix president Yoichi Wada expressed dismay about how Konami treated Kojima. He felt it was both "cruel" and bad for business.

Today, it has become official that Hideo Kojima's contract has expired and has made a new studio, according to IGN. The information first came from a Japanese financial publication The Nikkei. The report was translated from Japanese by other game sites.

It was also officially announced that Kojima will be working with Sony on a PlayStation-exclusive game, according to Gamespot. The new studio is an independent studio and the first game will be in collaboration with Sony. It will come to the PC after a while. The new studio will have former Kojima Productions staff, but the number of those members is not specified.

The new studio will be called Kojima Productions, according to Kotaku. Sony announced their collaboration with Kojima in a video that can be viewed below.

Kojima's new studio, Kojima Productions, has a new official website that fans can visit. It has a message for the fans that have followed Kojima all these years. The website can be viewed here. There is still no word on what new game Kojima will be creating.
