‘Captain America 3’ Cast Chad Boseman: Black Panther ‘Can Beat’ Cap; Discussed His Costume

"Captain America 3" cast Chadwick Boseman, who will play the Black Panther in the film, said he belived character "can beat" Captain America in a fight, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The rumor mill has been churning nonstop about what would go down in "Captain America 3: Civil War" ever since it was announced. Questions of who would go against who - apart from Iron Man and Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America - have been asked by many.
"Captain America 3" cast Chad Boseman will play Black Panther. It has long been confirmed that the native overlord of Wakanda will be in the character lineup of the film, but the side he will be taking is still unclear, according to sources.
In relation to that, on a recent guest appearance on EW's Weekly Radio, Boseman was asked who would win in a battle between Captain America and Black Panther, according to ScreenRant.
In an attempt to not reveal too much, the actor stated he believes Black Panther can take on Steve Rogers, too. "If you're talking to Mayweather or Pacquiao, before Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, then Mayweather is going to say he'll win," he said.
He further added, "[And] if you're talking to Canelo, before the Cotto fight, Canelo's gonna say he's gonna win."
Though he believes in such a thought, the actor refused to reveal who would win the fight between the two characters in the film.
Apart from Black Panther being able to battle neck-and-neck with Captain America, Boseman also discussed the myth behind his character's suit, IB Times reported.
In the original comics, Black Panther is supposed to be sporting a suit made of a fictional metal called Vibranium which could "change form and still retain its strength. Boseman described Vibranium as "dynamic" and that it holds "a lot of potential" essential for telling a deeper, bigger story.
However, the actor admitted that the only part of the costume he enjoyed were the boots as the mask limited his vision and he felt "claustrophobic" in the suit.
"Captain America 3: Civil War" will premiere on May 6 next year.
