PS4 Announces Free Multiplayer This Weekend For Console Owners; Free Downloadable Games For Download Confirmed!
PS4 free multiplayer starts this Friday until the end of the weekend for the console owners, according to EnGadget.
PlayStation Plus is a subscription plan for gamers who own PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. It is an optional subscription that gives benefits to those who will subscribe. Players who try this out will get access to multiplayer feature of some games.
Sony is removing the requirement for the PlayStation Plus for online multiplayer access to the PS4 for this weekend only. Players will have all access to online multiplayer features who own the PS4 from Friday until Sunday. It will start on Dec. 11 at 12:01 a.m. PT and will end on Dec. 13 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
"To get started, log on to PlayStation Network during the free weekend period, launch your favorite multiplayer game, and you'll instantly have access to multiplayer with your friends," according to Andy Lum of Sony Entertainment. "There's no membership commitment required to try out online multiplayer during this period."
The PS4 free multiplayer event for this weekend might not be available in Europe and other countries since Sony did not confirm it, according to PlayStationLifeStyle.net.
In addition, owners of the PlayStation Plus subscription can download free games from the Instant Game Collection. Subscribers can get "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition," "King's Quest Chapter 1," "Freedom Wars" and "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" on different consoles. These games will only be free to download this month.
Aside from the PS4 free multiplayer event for this weekend, it seems Sony is also marketing an ad that features "Star Wars Battlefront" at the front with other multiplayer games on the side like "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" and "Destiny," according to Tech Times. The game site speculates Sony wants to market the PS Plus feature for those who will try out the free online multiplayer feature this weekend.
