Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Is Globally the 6th Biggest Anime Film of All Time
The staff of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie recently revealed that the film has sold over 20.51 million tickets, earning a worldwide grossing sale of over 26.5 billion yen. The website Numbers listed the film with a worldwide box office gross of US$195,870,885 making it the sixth highest-earning anime film of all time, beating Makoto Shinkai's anime film hit, Weathering With You.
Jujutsu Kaisen debut in the Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018. The manga's popularity has paved the way for an anime adaptation that premiered in Japan on October 2, 2020, and it had 24 episodes in total. Its anime film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiered on December 24, 2021 in Japan, and was later released in other film venue worldwide. The film is based on the prequel manga of the same name.
The anime is confirmed to have a second season and slated to released sometime in 2023.
It was also reported that the manga circulation jumped to 590% since the premiere of its anime adaptation. Its publisher Shueisha have also announced that the manga's 18th and 19th volume will have bundles merchandise included. Respective volumes had an acrylic stand calendar with character charms (32 pieces), and "on-the-scene" photos taken from the manga with a five object bundle.
