2022 Genie Music Awards to Feature Taeyeon, DKZ, The Boyz, and Be’O
This year's Genie Music Awards is something special as the event officially announced its second lineup of performers. Taeyeon of Girls' Generation, DKZ, Be'O and The Boyz will be performing in this music event.
The awarding event will be happening on November 8 and will also feature other popular K-pop group groups and personalities like (G)I-DLE, Red Velvet, and IVE. The mentioned groups were the first group of artists that were announced previously by the event.
Recently, SM Entertainment released a statement in relation to Taeyeon's withdrawal from joining the KAMP LA 2022 concert. The company released a statement on her official Instagram account on October 15 that "The organizer was in charge of visa approvals related to the performances, and we cooperated in advance and provided all the necessary documents needed in the process. However, we were informed that Taeyeon's performance visa hasn't been approved in the end. We ask for your understanding for not being able to inform the fans sooner, as the organizer was in the process of checking the visa status of several other artists other than our own whose visa have also not been processed."
The Genie Music Awards is a music awards show organized by Genie Music together with its partner network. Its first show happened on November 6, 2018. The event is notable for featuring big names in K-pop as well as the awards that these groups and artist get recognition for.
Similar to other big music awards centered in the K-pop industry, the nominations and winners for the Genie Music Awards are selected based on Genie Music's chart data and the evaluation is done through a panel of judges and online voting in South Korea.
