LOONA’s Chuu Could Lose Her Stage Name Due To Ongoing Legal Battle with Blockberry Creative!
Could LOONA's Chuu possibly lose her stage name if negotiations with Blockberry Creative go south?
Recently on the 29th of March, it was reported that LOONA's very own Chuu had gone on to file a lawsuit against her currency label, Blockberry Creative. This all connected to the to suspension of her exclusive contract previously in December of last year.
As per reports, LOONA's Chuu has already gotten partial approval from the court, and the K-pop idol would be given a preliminary injunction, which will allow Chuu's contract to be partially suspended to stop any further harm until a final ruling is decided upon by the court.
Both LOONA's Chuu and her label Blockberry Creative have yet to drop a statement regarding the matter. Orbits, the fandom name of LOONA, are confused as the reasons behind the K-pop idol's lawsuit against Blockberry Creative have not been clarified.
Furthermore, after the news of Chuu's sudden lawsuit, K-pop fans have found out that there is a chance that Chuu might not be able to use her stage name anymore for promotions if the K-pop idol was to terminate her contract and part ways with Blockberry Creative.
As per the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS), Blockberry Creative had applied for trademark rights previously on the 4th of February for the stage name "LOONA's Chuu," in both English and in Korean.
Essentially, this means that Blockberry Creative had applied for trademark rights over the names, particularly LOONA's Chuu, while the lawsuit was notably still going on.
