Push-Up Exercise

After a tiring day, we all deserve a good night's sleep. However, it is common to suffer from insomnia and overall poor sleep quality.

To get a good night's sleep, research has found that strength training is better than aerobic exercise. The results showed that as a result of consistently doing strength exercises such as lifting equipment or doing push-ups, people slept better than those who did aerobic exercises, such as jogging or biking.

Researchers at Iowa State University in the US studied overweight or obese Americans between the ages of 35 and 70. The subjects mainly had a sedentary habit and had high blood pressure.

The research team divided the subjects into 4 groups: a group that did not exercise at all, a group that did strength training for 3 hours a week, a group that did aerobic exercise on a treadmill or indoor bike for 3 hours a week, and a group that did both aerobic and strength training.

As a result of the study, the group that did aerobic exercise or did aerobic and strength training, on average, increased their sleep time by 23 minutes per night. On the other hand, the group that did only strength training had an additional sleep time of 40 minutes.

Aside from doing regular strength training like push-ups or weight lifting, healthy food supplements made of medicinal herbs can help you get a better night's sleep.
