Hence why taking in this fruit is a good way to combat inflammation.

#2 Strawberries

Strawberries provide 100% of daily vitamin C which is more than a medium orange. Getting a good amount of vitamin C is important for proper immune functioning. The antioxidant vitamin found in Strawberries also gives additional anti-inflammatory benefits by stopping free radicals from damaging cells to trigger new inflammation.

#1 Cherries

As per research, both cherries lower inflammatory blood proteins which offer pain relief that are similar to ibuprofen. Anthocyanins and other polyphenolic compounds found in cherries seem to reduce inflammation by stopping potential free radicals from damaging cells. Cherries also help people get better sleep, another remedy for inflammation.

Cherries, both sweet and tart, are the type of fruit that increases melatonin levels and stops inflammatory cytokines that lessens sleep.
