Netflix Releases Official Statement Responding To Rumors Of ‘Kingdom: Tale of the Crown Prince’
Ahead of the recent release of "Kingdom: Ashin of the North," streaming site Netflix has officially released an announcement answering rumors and reports of another special episode of "Kingdom."
As of writing this article, two days ago on the 23rd of July, the popular Netflix series "Kingdom" dropped a special 92-minute episode entitled "Kingdom: Ashin of the North." The special episode is noted to be an addition to the second season of "Kingdom."
The special episode of "Kingdom" focuses on the story of Ashin, played by Jun Ji Hyun. The character was encountered by a group lead by Lee Chang, played by Joo Ji Hoon, towards their journey to the north at the end of the recent season.
"Kingdom: Ashin of the North" received amazing reviews as viewers thoroughly enjoyed the special episode. Thus rumors of another special "Kingdom" episode began surfacing which of course made viewers and fans of "Kingdom" hyped up.
Previously, Korean media outlets started reporting that "Kingdom" was gearing up to drop a second special episode similar to "Kingdom: Ashin of the North." The working title is "Kingdom: Tale of the Crown Prince."
The rumored special episode of "Kingdom" is reportedly going to be handled by Kang Yoon Sung, the director known for "The Outlaws." Moreover, the rumored special episode will focus on the backstory and character of Lee Chang, Joo Ji Hoon's character.
This, of course, made netizens extremely excited as another "Kingdom" special episode will surely get more hype after the success of "Kingdom: Ashin of the North." But unfortunately, Netflix soon stated, "Nothing has yet been decided."
But Netflix sees the potential of another "Kingdom" special as "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" was highly revered. Hopefully, Netflix ultimately decides on releasing another "Kingdom" special episode!
