Dawn Returns In ‘Pokemon’ Anime
The Japanese voice actress of Dawn (or Hikari) in the popular Pokemon anime franchise Megumi Toyoguchi, broke her silence recently in a Twitter post teasing that Dawn will return in the anime,
"Pokemon Journeys". It has been nine years since Dawn's last appearance in the anime and she is looking forward to voicing this popular female character again very soon.
Many fans were thrilled with the news as she is considered a huge fan favorite especially those who religiously follow the "Pokemon" anime, anime movies, and games. Toyoguchi expressed that she is excited for the return of Dawn and her loyal Piplup in the series.
Toyoguchi understood that many new fans might not be too familiar with Dawn as she appeared in the anime's "Diamond & Pearl" season. However, she said she is confident that new fans will love her sunny personality. She also mentioned that Dawn's partner Pokemon, Piplup is also very cute and she said that fans are going to be thrilled in this special Summer arc of "Pokemon Journeys."
The "Pokemon" anime is based on the popular video games franchise developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. The anime follows the adventures of Ash Ketchum (Satoshi in Japanese) as he travels far and wide to beat different Pokemon trainers and gym leaders in order to become a Pokemon Master. Unlike the first Gameboy-generation games (with an exemption of "Pokemon Yellow") where you chose either a Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, Ash's first partner Pokemon was Pikachu, a lightning Pokemon.
Along the way, he tags along with different characters as they go from different towns and cities to capture, battle, and know more about the world of Pokemon. Aside from Pokemon battles, they usually encounter different situations, more commonly evil plans from Team Rocket.
The "Pokemon" anime series has 24 seasons so far with a number of specials and movies.
