Since America has declared war on terrorism, the country has been involved in altercations regarding the matter. The most prevalent being US' participation in Afghanistan. Now, after being active in Afghanistan for 20 years, US troops are finally coming home.

As per reports, the remaining US troops have departed from the Bagram Air Base. This was confirmed by the US defense official. This commemorates the end of the US forces' participation in military altercations regarding Afghanistan.

Although not yet fully removed from Afghanistan, US troops are slated to be finally out of the country soon. Since 2001, US troops have been active in Bagram, giving assistance since the 9/11 attacks in the US.

Initially abandoned, the Bagram Air Base became sprawling with activity as the entrance of US forces caused the surrounding area to come alive. Only time will tell regarding if the status of the area will change.

Spanning two miles, the Bagram runway has been familiar with US wheels screeching on and off on almost a daily basis. The former presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump have visited the Bagram Air Base in their respective times as president.

Notably, the Bagram Air Base was officially handed over to the Afghan military last Friday. This was confirmed by the spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense, Rohullah Ahamadzai.

Currently, President Joe Biden and his administration made it obvious the remaining US forces will be out of the region by September 11 at the latest. This means that after 2 decades, US forces will finally be out of the area in 2 months.

American citizens have been on board with the total US withdrawal on the Afghanistan scene. But some Afghans are worried because they do not believe they are ready to fully handle the war themselves.

Moving forward, citizens all over the world are happy with the decisions and are hoping that Afghanistan will be able to stand on its own.
