John Krasinki Not Yet Done With ‘A Quiet Place’, Teases More Movies Beyond 3rd
2018 was the year "A Quiet Place" hit cinemas and it immediately became a classic due to its revolutionary themes and plot.
The 16th of April, 2020, marked the day "A Quiet Place Part II" was released and the sequel to the 2018 hit movie garnered so much acclaim and attention, it is only a no-brainer for producers to greenlight a third movie.
But it seems as though fans of "A Quiet Place" will be getting more than just an upcoming part 3, as per recent reports.
The Abbotts, the main family in the "A Quiet Place" films, will possibly share a universe in an upcoming "A Quiet Place" spin-off which will be directed by director Jeff Nichols. This will seemingly release before a direct sequel for the films, or "A Quiet Place part III."
This seems like what John Krasinski is planning. The actor-director shared that he would be ok if a film under Jeff Nichols will be the 3rd part of "A Quiet Place" which will follow the Abbot family.
But John Krasinki teased that regardless if it is a spin-off or a sequel, Nichols' movie is going to be great.
John Krasinki shared with Empire, "Is it going to continue the Abbotts? Who knows! I am really excited about the third installment because it's going to do something that we have not done yet before."
John Krasinki even went on to talk about the characters of "A Quiet Place."
"Truly the only person I had in mind when asked whether I would hand this off was Jeff. I think he is one of the best filmmakers, 'Mud' is one of my favourite movies, it's so real and intimate. It is exactly the sort of shades we are painting with in 'A Quiet Place'; very organic characters you fall in love with," John Krasinski added.
For John Krasinski, Jeff Nichols was his first choice for the project. He pitched Nichols his story and Nichols has gone and developed the world on his own with that jumping-off point, which made Krasinski thrilled.
"I can't wait to see him shoot this thing," John Krasinski shared.
As of writing this article, the only thing known about the coming "A Quiet Place" movie is that it will be released on the 31st of March, 2023.
