SM Entertainment Recently Confirmed New NCT Unit: NCT Hollywood & Here’s What Netizens Think
It was recently announced by SM Entertainment that the agency would be opening a recent reality show competition for the agency to search for new members to debut as a new unit of NCT called NCT-Hollywood.
SM Entertainment NCT's current units are NCT 127, NCT U, NCT DREAM, and WayV.
For the upcoming NCT survival show, SM Entertainment will be teaming up with MGM Television Worldwide Group along with Digital for the upcoming K-Pop competition show. NCT Hollywood will consist of the first K-Pop boy group that will be coming from the U.S.
The show will be taking place in Seoul, where contestants will compete against one another and, of course, be trained in the arts of K-pop and the K-pop industry.
SM Entertainment's coming competition is initially going to scout boys from ages 13 to 25 years old for NCT Hollywood. SM Entertainment will then fly participants to Seoul, South Korea.
There, they will be mentored in SM Entertainment by Lee Soo Man himself, and of course, the other NCT members.
NCTzens, the fandom of NCT, were quick to chime off their reactions on Twitter to the announcement of the upcoming NCT unit, NCT Hollywood.
One NCTzen tweeted their 'controversial' opinion, which soon garnered a huge amount of reaction from fans and netizens. According to the fan, this is quite unfair to the original members of NCT as the original NCT members were the ones who initially toiled to bring NCT where they are now.
Another NCTzen shared that SM Entertainment is simply using NCT's fame and name for immediate attention on a group they're debuting.
The fan continued to share that they support SM Entertainment to expand but hopefully not to rely on the hard work done by the original NCT members. The fan's tweet also went on to receive a lot of attention.
