Blink-182's new album is in the works, according to NME.

The band is a three-man team with Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge. After some time, DeLonge quit the band, opting for the rest of the band members to look for another member. Luckily they found someone to replace DeLonge and continue on with making new songs.

For Blink-182's new album, they have recorded five new songs with the new member, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. The band has recorded a song titled "Punk Rock Cliché," according to sources

In addition, Barker has complimented Skiba's help as a good thing which gave the fans hope for better Blink-182 songs in the future.

"Matt's killing it," said Barker in an interview with NME. "He's fun to play with and write with."

Barker also talked about the new five songs they are recording with the help of Skiba.

"We're just getting started but I think we've got like four or five songs right now that I'm really, really happy with," said Barker. "There's a song called 'Punk Rock Cliché' which I love the most right now. It's about friends of ours and their relationships."

Barker talked about the difference between their ex-bandmate DeLonge and the new member, Skiba. He said that they sound different but it is still the same. Since it is Skiba that is singing, there are hints of Alkaline Trio in it, said Barker. He said he really likes what they have done so far, according to Loud Wire.

Matt Skiba joining the group has other roles in the band, according to AV Club. He sometimes sings lead vocals, dresses like a high school kid who likes Blink-182, and has adopted a "weird local affectation."

The band's issues with DeLonge were about being frustrated with him not able to perform or record with the band anymore. He spent the time this year promoting his albums which prompted the rest of Blink-182 to move on and make a new album on their own.
