The 18th Korean Music Awards was streamed online yesterday, on February 28, through Naver NOW, a streaming audio and music content service. The full list of winners has been released.
The Korean Music Awards, one of the most looked forward to awarding ceremonies of the year, puts more emphasis on the albums and specific songs rather than the K-pop idols or South Korean artists.
Rather than looking at physical or digital sales, the Korean Music Awards focuses on musical achievement for the main criteria to decide who will be the winners. This awards ceremony solely focuses on aiding the improvement of the music from South Korea. It does not matter if the winners are immensely popular or have a small following.
