Shinee's Key Talks About Being 30 And His Life Changing Career On Allure
Shinee's Key has recently opened up about his life-changing career as a K-pop Idol on the latest online issue of Allure magazine. In the article, Key, 30, spoke about how far he has come in terms of his career.
He confessed that he did not think he was still going to be a singer at the age of 30. As observed by him, Key noticed that most artist's careers would start to dwindle at 30. But, unlike most artists, Key is continuous to remain active, and not much has changed.
Allure points out that Key's fan base has only grown in the years since his debut at 18 years of age. The magazine compares his fan base to a small nation after years and years of both local and international recognition.
The article also highlights Key's other career option, which was becoming a doctor. Key shares that these dreams come from his parents, as his mom was a nurse and his father a financial investment advisor.
Key's love for the arts and music was honed at a very young age. He admitted in the interview with Allure that he secretly studied dance in school instead of studying academics.
At just 15 years, Key decided to audition behind his parents' back.
Later on, the Shinee member sat his parents down to tell them the truth about him wanting to become an idol.
"You're such a shy kid," they said. "You can't be a star," Key reiterated.
When the idol debuted in 2008 as part of SM's k-pop band Shinee, it was way beyond what he imagined, and that he had a hard time adjusting.
In the long run, Key became one of the most well-known Idols in Korea and still is one of the stellar artists. He has broken the boundaries not only in music and fashion but also with pop culture.
