Actress Kim Bo-kyung Passes Away At 44
Korean actress Kim Bo-kyung has died after 11 years of battling cancer. She was 44 years old.
She died on February 2nd and her funeral ceremony was held Friday, February 5th, Korean news agencies reported.
Kim Bo-kyung was born on April 3rd, 1976, in Busan, South Korea, and majored in Theater at the Seoul Institute of the Arts.
Her co-artists also mourned her death. According to media outlets like Lovekpop95, Son Ye-jin, Moon Geun-young, Dong-Gun Jang expressed their grief and burst into tears after hearing Kim Bo-kyung's death.
The Korean entertainment industry and her affiliates worldwide are mourning her death. She will be remembered in her works that include the popular 2001 movie "Friend" and her rise to fame after her stellar performance in the film as Jin Sook, the vocalist of the band Rainbow.
Kim Bo-kyung also appeared in films such as "Blue Sky," "RU Ready?," "Sword In The Moon," "Paju," "Epitaph," and "The Day He Arrives."
She also portrayed various roles in the movies "Before The Summer Passes Away," "After The Banquet," "Horror Stories," and more.
Her television drama projects were "Invitation," "School 4," "Spotlight," "Behind The White Tower," and more.
In 2007, she won Best Actress at the 3rd Pierson Film Festival for her performance in "Epitaph." She was also nominated Best New Actress at the 22nd Blue Dragon Film Awards for her performance in "Friend," and received her nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 21st Buil Film Awards for her performance in "The Day He Arrives."
